You can make your business super successful if you follow a simple step process endorsed by successful entrepreneurs. This process can work for you, whether you are starting a business or scaling an existing one.
Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to invest in “big break strategies” to make your business super successful. In business, Big Breaks exist only on paper and often result in complexities. The following 4 powerful steps can make your business super successful if you practice them.
How to make your business super successful
1. Focus on Vision
Developing a compelling clear vision can keep you on track to create a super successful business. Clear vision increases productivity and inspires motivation to stay committed on key priorities. But the sad reality is that not having a clear vision opens the door to procrastination and failure.
It is common for entrepreneurs to be busy hardworking, which okay. The problem is that no amount of busyness and hard work can produce any significant result without vivid vision. To some, managing a business is like betting. They take a chance and expect a miracle. Trouble is, you just cannot go in the wrong direction and expect miracle to happen. A compelling clear vision will help you to make useful decisions. It also helps in developing the right actions to make your business super successful when practiced.
Tools to improve focus on vision
When there is conflict between what you can do and what you want to do, your result would be sub-optimal.
What brought you to business?
One great way to focus on vision is to answer the question: “What brought me to business?” Think about the wonderful ideas and inspirations that informed your decision to start your business. Your answer could range from building a secure future to living your passion, or helping others to reach purpose. Double check whether your product or service fulfills real need in the marketplace, or just someone’s idea. If you copied the idea from someone, what can you do to make it unique?
Define who you truly are.
Next, you need to discover exactly who you are. The easiest way to discover you is by taking a look at your core values. These are the fundamental behaviours that drive your decisions and actions. They influence your choices about what is right, and how you deal with them. For example, let us assume that you want to help others reach their purpose. You need to ensure that your core values align with the part of you that is willing to help others. When there is conflict between what you can do and what you want to do, your result would be sub-optimal. The truth is that core values drive focus and commitment.
You cannot be 100% committed to an action if the action does not fit your core values. Also, you can not work successfully on your business if any part of you foot-drags. It’s like people who do not associate with others, they don’t make successful sales calls. So be sure that your actions align with your personal values. Take a look at your mission vision and values for answer to why you procrastinate on your responsibilities.

2. Allow time to promote you
This step is not about effective time management technique for entrepreneurs. It’s more about an idea that can make your business super successful if you practice it. As you know, time is the most valuable possession to every entrepreneur. So position yourself so time can work for, and not against you.
Unlike farmers who observe three crucial farming seasons: plant, cultivate and harvest, many entrepreneurs go directly from planting to harvesting. Sending proposals today and expecting a contract next week is going from plant direct to harvest. Making a sales call today and expecting an order the next day is going from plant direct to harvest. Everyone seems to constantly seek for instant result, but there is no instant result in entrepreneurship. Instead, develop courage and wait patiently for the results you seek.
Sometimes people ask: how long will it take before I see the result? Chances are, it would take longer than you expect. What you do today will not produce the result you seek immediately. But you need to continue doing them anyway, and have faith in the process. Results come last through the secret dimension of time. Before you see the result you seek, you would have long completed the action. Create a definite plan of action and execute relentlessly.
3.Take consistent baby steps daily
I’m often asked in my Signature Business Coaching Program; “what’s the best strategy for create sustainable profitable business?” My answer is simple: take the most important action on your business consistently. People who execute their business plan consistently produce far more results. Truth is that the actions may be seemingly insignificant – baby steps, but the compound effect can be really rewarding.
If you are like some successful entrepreneurs, you don’t want to take actions on ad-hoc basis. You don’t do something once or twice and abandon it for another two or three weeks. For example, you cannot make ten sales calls today and wait for two weeks to make another. Chances are you could lose momentum; and it takes twice the initial time to restart the process.
You can start today by identifying key priorities that can take you one step closer to your goal. Review your “Why” and make it compelling to keep you inspired daily. You are likely to be more effective if you adopt a “Plan-Do-Review” strategy to measure your effectiveness regularly. Review your actions also and improve your results where necessary. Find someone to hold you accountable for your results. It may be a coach, mentor or friend. Your result will change if you take consistent action on your plan.
4. Model someone who’s being there, and done that
Truth is that the actions may be seemingly insignificant – baby steps, but the compound effect can be really rewarding.
Asking for help from someone who has achieved similar goal to yours will make your business super successful. Find someone in your industry who has achieved what you want and learn from him. Bird’s of the same feather they say, flock together; right?
Another important success factor is to immerse yourself deeply in life-long learning. This could mean reading 10 pages of a good book daily for 5 years or more. The cumulative effect can put you in the 1% league of the Masters in your industry five years from today.
